RULER On-Site Training

Bring RULER Training to Your Area

The RULER Institute is the first step in bringing RULER to a school. The two-day, in-person institute equips a small team from each school to lead RULER implementation.

For school districts, regional education service agencies, or regions preparing to adopt RULER, we offer an on-site training experience delivered in person by RULER training facilitators from the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. Hosting training in your area helps to ensure that all participating schools benefit from a cohesive implementation strategy.

For more information on how to host a RULER Training Institute in your area, please contact rulertraining@yale.edu.

The training consists of two full days of interactive and reflective activities that teach the principles, skills, and tools of emotional intelligence. During the training, RULER Implementation Teams (the teams attending training) will also have time to start strategizing how they plan to bring RULER to their school, starting with how they will train the rest of the staff.

Each school will select a small team from your school to attend the training. We call this team the “RULER Implementation Team.” Implementation Teams must include at least one school administrator (principal, assistant principal, or dean of students) plus at least two teachers or mental health professionals.
