Amy Norback, M.A., is the associate director of training and implementation at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. Amy oversees and implements the strategy for RULER training, coaching, and implementation support for schools and districts. She began her 14-year career in education as a teacher in Washington, D.C. Amy was also a classroom teacher and school administrator in Bridgeport and New Haven, Connecticut. Amy was introduced to the RULER approach while receiving her Master of Arts degree in School Leadership at Teachers College, Columbia University. She brought her RULER training to her kindergarten classroom, where she achieved Master Teacher status. Later, Amy led her school’s RULER implementation team as the Dean of Student Experience.
Amy lives in Connecticut with her partner and two children, all of whom appreciate having a Mood Meter displayed in their home. Her work with RULER and evolving understanding of emotional intelligence has guided her development and approach as an educator, leader, and parent.
