Annie Schien, M.Ed., is a coach and trainer for the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence. She has worked in education in California for seven years as a first grade and TK teacher. It was here that she brought RULER to life in the classroom, and worked on the district’s RULER implementation team for the past four years.
Annie has an B.A. from Sonoma State University in Art History and a Masters of Education for Educational Psychology from the University of Missouri. Annie completed a two-year Teacher Leadership certificate program through the University of California, Davis, which inspired her to shift into supporting educators and administrators in implementing systemic SEL.
Annie is currently taking a leave from the classroom to stay home with her daughter, Hazel, and to work with educators to cultivate authentic and impactful systemic change in schools.
